Become a Little League Umpire – A Thrilling Way to Get Involved!
Are you ready to step up to the plate and make positive impact in the game? Whether you are a young player, an eager parent, or someone just looking for a fun and rewarding job, umpiring is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the action while earning some extra cash!
Why Umpire?
Umpiring isn’t just for adults or experienced players—it’s for anyone aged 12 and up! As an umpire, you will get an up-close view of the game, help keep it fair and fun and develop a deeper understanding of baseball. Plus, it is a perfect spring or summer gig that lets you work outdoors, set your schedule, and be part of the community.
For players, this is an awesome way to stay connected with the sport while earning money. Parents, siblings, and friends who want to get involved can also sign up—no experience required!

Umpire Clinics: Training You for Success
New to umpiring? No problem! All first-year umpires must attend the District 8 Little League Umpire Clinic and the Mark Alenius Rules Clinic. The clinics prepare you with the essential skills and knowledge to help you thrive on the field. We also offer ongoing training for returning umpires to refresh and refine your abilities.
Upcoming Umpire Clinic Dates
Regarding the Umpire Clinic that fits your level of experience, we are please to offer a few options to fit your schedule. If there are multiple dates in that option, the aspiring umpire must attend both dates.
NOTE: We can only accommodate so many registrants per session. If we need to balance the attendees in a clinic level, those registered last will be moved to the other session.

How Umpire Scheduling Works
We use ArbiterSports, a user-friendly tool that lets you sign up for available games based on your schedule. As a new umpire, we suggest you start with base umpiring for a few games before stepping up to plate umpiring. This helps build confidence and gives you the chance to learn the ropes from experienced umpires.
Umpire Pay
Get paid to do what you love! Here are the game fees:
- Minors: Plate Umpire – $35, Base Umpire – $30
- Majors: Plate Umpire – $40, Base Umpire – $35
- Intermediate/Junior/Senior: Plate Umpire – $50, Base Umpire – $50
Payment made easy! We will e-transfer the funds to the email address you registered in your Arbiter profile.
